Joel is currently a Regional Client Executive (Director) with Hewlett Packard (HP). He has been with HP nearly ten years. He is a highly motivated and results-oriented leader whose business acumen, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills make him a trusted advisor to clients, senior management and business partners. As a George Mason University School of Management alumni, he has a vested interest in the continued growth of GMU SOM. Joel would like to play an active role in ensuring that the program continues to increase its global brand awareness and foster its reputation for providing a top-tier education with state-of-the-art facilities and industry leaders serving as faculty. He has learned (both in theory at GMU SOM and in practice at HP) that effective leadership requires strong engagement across all levels of an organization. As that relates to an academic institution and the responsibilities entrusted within the Board of Directors, it is critical not only to understand the internal needs of GMU SOM students and faculty, but also the needs of our communities and potential employers across the region. He feels that our graduates must be armed with leadership skills and analytic thinking capabilities that will enable them not only to be successful professionals, but also stewards of the community that foster the importance of higher education and service.
